Children’s nutrition first sparked my interest when I realized that this is one of the greatest issues that our nation faces. Born in Northern California and raised on organic gardens and farms I have always cared greatly about my nutritional health and my education at Summerfield Waldorf School expanded that. Now, at eighteen, as I set out for college I hope to turn this care for myself out towards our community, nation, and world at large.

My name is Clare Schuett-Hall, and I am currently a 9th grade student attending Analy High School in Sebastopol, CA. I joined DirectionFive in 2010, as I am an avid health nut and interested in all fields of nutrition. I believe that being conscientious about the foods we eat can affect not only our own health, but the health of communities worldwide. Educating children about health and nutrition can influence them to eat in a way that is beneficial to everyone. By choosing  to eat healthy, local organic produce and helping to expand those practices on a larger scale, we can change the world. DirectionFive is a rapidly-growing step towards achieving health for all, one I am proud for being a part of.
