Time to get back to ‘normal!’ Our very first Gala was a success, we are very proud to say! It was elegant, fun, with a great vibe in the room.

We were more than pleased to receive a call from Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey asking for a meeting to update her on DirectionFive.
The Congresswoman has always been involved with kids and their health and she and I shared a nice memory of her coming to my cooking school and as she put it, “smelling that wonderful smell of greens cooking.” How nice….
You’ll be hearing more about her support as time goes on, but for now, our smiling faces say it all!

We were asked to participate in the Kaiser Employee Wellness Day today and we were swamped! It was really great. We met lots of kids and their parents and they learned all about us while they snacked on hummus and veggies. A really good day had by all!

Yes, another post! We’ve been busy! By the end of next week, we’ll have more to tell you. Wonder why we have so many upcoming programs at so many places?
It’s because the word is out! Kids learn so much-and therefore so do their parents-and have such a great time.
On September 26th, 27th, and 28th of this month-that’s a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday-we’ll be teaching the 5-hour introductory class at The Boy’s and Girl’s Club on Hahman Drive in Santa Rosa. The classes are from 4:00 to 5:30 each day and the kids will cook and learn some very important points about their body and how to keep it healthy.

This is an after school program in the gorgeous kitchen at The First United Methodist Church. Open to the first 12 kids who sign up.
